YMDB is designed with
you in mind.
YMDB allows you to explore movies, actors, and cinema news. It is centered on movie lovers like yourself, so as you visit your favorite films,
you will discover other film fans who love the same movies.
Write a review for a movie, explore how your friends your movies, or simply browse our selection to discover new favorites.

For the Judges
I coded this site from scratch by hand, using
PHP and
JavaScript (with Prototype and Script.aculo.us).
All of the graphics were also designed by me using Photoshop, with the exception of the wonderful
Famfamfam icons.
This site works great in both Internet Explorer and Firefox, although I prefer that you use Firefox.
The idea behind my site is to connect real people through the virtual world, and to bring them together through movies.
This site consists of four pages (not counting
this page):
- a search page, where you can films and actors (and mark them as your favorite for all to see ;)
- a news page, to keep yourself up to date with the latest cinematography news
- In your profile page, you can post on your Reel or see who else left you a message. You can also see all of your favorite items on the site.
- You can see other people's profiles, and see their interests and leave a message. You can also befriend them.
(Note: it appears that many actresses were declared "Male" in the XML file)
I didn't get to finish a feature that uses Google maps to initiate requests to see a movie with someone who lives by you (in a movie theater in your area). For now, you can just post on the user's Reel saying "hey, let's see
The Bourne Ultimatum".
